देहरादून। भारतीय बैंकिंग उद्योग 1 अप्रैल 2020 को बैंकिंग क्षेत्र के महाएकीकरण का साक्षी रहा जिसके तहत सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के बैंकों की संख्या 19 से घटकर 12 हो गई। इस कवायद के तहत ओरिएंटल बैंक ऑफ कॉमर्स और यूनाइटेड बैंक ऑफ इंडिया का विलय पंजाब नेशनल बैंक (पीएनबी) में हुआ जिससे देश के सबसे बड़े बैंकों से एक बैंक बना जिसका कुल कारोबार 18 लाख करोड़ रुपये से अधिक का है। पीएनबी की पहुंच अब देश के व्यापक क्षेत्र तक हो गई है जिसमें बैंक की 10,800 से अधिक शाखाएं, 13,900 से अधिक एटीएम, 12,300 से अधिक बैंकिंग कॉरेस्पॉन्डेंट (प्रतिनिधि ) और एक लाख से अधिक समर्पित कर्मचारी शामिल हैं। एकीकरण की पहली वर्षगांठ के साथ ही पीएनबी ने कारोबार, ग्राहक एवं कर्मचारी और तकनीक का एकीकरण पूरा कर लिया है और बैंक अब इस एकीकरण से मिली साझी क्षमता का पूरी तरह लाभ उठाने के लिए तैयार है।
समामेलन के बाद बैंक की महत्वपूर्ण प्रगति पर सीएच, एस.एस. मल्लिकार्जुन राव, प्रबंध निदेशक एवं मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी, पीएनबी, ने कहा, ’ हमने तकनीक का विलय दिसंबर 2020 तक रिकॉर्ड समय में पूरा कर लिया जिससे 2021 से हम अपने कारोबार की प्राथमिकताओं पर ध्यान देने में सक्षम हो सके। हमने संस्थान में कई तरह के आंतरिक बदलाव भी किए जिससे बैंक को ग्राहक केन्द्रित और भविष्य का बैंक बना सकें। निर्बाध एकीकरण, उत्पादों का सुविधाजनक सामंजस्य, प्रक्रिया, वितरण चैनल, विशेषीकृत यूनिट का निर्माण और तकनीक आधारित प्लेटफॉर्म से हम व्यापक उत्पाद पेश करने और बेहतरीन सेवा दे सके हैं जिसका फायदा ग्राहकों को मिला है।’ विलय की प्रक्रिया सभी हितधारकों के लिए यादगार यात्रा के रुप में रही जिसमें विभिन्न कार्य संस्कृति, विविध आंतरिक प्रक्रियाओं का एकीकरण और जटिल तकनीक का एकीकरण बेहद सौहार्दपूर्ण रहा और इसे हमने महामारी की चुनौती को पार करके किया है। सबसे खास बात यह है की तकनीक का एकीकरण करीब-करीब बिना किसी रुकावट के पूरा कर लिया गया। पीएनबी ने इस पूरे बदलाव को बेहद सक्रियता के साथ आसानी से पूरा कर लिया और अब ग्राहक शाखाओं की व्यापक पहुंच, एटीएम और तेज डिजिटल बैंकिंग की सुविधाओं की शृंखला का फायदा उठा सकते हैं। बैंक ने पूर्वोत्तर में कारोबार बढ़ाने, ग्राहकों को जोड़ने और शाखाओं के विस्तार से अपनी पहुंच बढ़ाई है। व्यापक भौगोलिक पहुंच ने ग्राहकों तक सेवाओं को जल्द और ज्यादा बेहतर तरीके से पहुंचाने में मदद की है।
